Shirley David MILM, BA Hons. is a trained employment counsellor, has extensive management experience and has been providing consultancy and training services since the launch of BEST in 1998. Shirley has achieved the Signature Level 6 NVQ Certificate in British Sign Language and has been working with the Deaf community for many years.
Shirley has also supported both Deaf and hearing clients with claims of discrimination, with a 100% success rate to date. This involves help with completion of the ET1 form (Employment Tribunal claim form) and preparation of evidence for a Tribunal.
Advice and support can also be given to employers who have discipline or grievance issues. Sometimes an independent viewpoint can be very helpful. BEST support can involve undertaking interviews and preparing the paperwork so that any decisions will be fair and meet all legislative requirements.
